You've got to enter to be a 2008 Marketplace Ethics Award Recipient
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2008 Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics.
The award is open to all for-profit businesses that serve retail and wholesale markets in the service area of the Better Business Bureau serving Eastern and Northern Ontario and the Outaouais. Not-for-profit and charitable organizations are not eligible, nor are businesses that primarily serve municipal, provincial, or federal governments (but can submit nominations for eligible candidates), nor are the recipients of the immediate previous year's award.
Accreditation to the BBB is not a requirement. The company must hold a satisfactory record with the BBB.
Entries must be submitted on 8.5” x 11” paper, with the total entry limited to a 2-inch, three-ring binder. Tabs must separate the binder into four sections corresponding to judging criteria, and include materials (mission statement, policies, publications, news articles, advertising, customer testimonials, etc.) that speak to the firm’s strengths regarding each of the criteria. Judges will not review video, DVD, CD or Web-based products.
Nominees should retain a copy of their entry. All entries become the property of BBB and cannot be returned.
To enter the 2008 competition, business representatives should click here to print out and complete the entry form and include four copies of the presentation based on the judging criteria and mail the entry form and supporting materials to the BBB by August 29, 2008.
The Entry Deadline is August 29, 2008.
